Introducing myself—Jim Lipsky, RDI Program Director and nationally certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI).

Founded in 2006 by Jim Lipsky and Stephanie Clark in collaboration with local Deaf Interpreters and the National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers (NCIEC), RDI was established to build a strong, high-quality pathway for Deaf individuals pursuing careers in interpreting. Our program proved so impactful that it served as the model for NCIEC’s national Deaf Interpreter Curriculum in 2014.

 

Since welcoming our first cohort in 2008 through our ongoing graduates, RDI has helped launch the careers of numerous skilled Deaf Interpreters who have gone on to achieve national RID certification (CDI) and state licensing across the country. Honored with the 2017 MSAD William B. Swett Award and the 2018 MCDHH Outstanding Service Provider of the Year, RDI remains deeply committed to empowering future generations of Deaf Interpreters.
