Lena Laferriere, Deaf Interpreter

​

Proudly Deaf and Massachusetts native and came from third generation of Deaf family.  Lena Laferriere, live and works in Central Massachusetts as an Deaf Interpreter, consultant and a trainer.  She devotes her free time to volunteering her consulting service to locate coalitions that aim to provide advocacy for Deaf, Hard of hearing and Deaf Blind communities in Massachusetts. 

​

She is certified by the Massachusetts State screened Deaf interpreter and passed partial certified knowledge exam for RID.   She has 14 years of professional experiences as an mental health, education, medical, state agencies, and national conferences.  Also, she has been strongly involved in Massachusetts Kids of Deaf Adults (MAKODA) and former Board of Director for Massachusetts State Association for the Deaf (MSAD). 

​

Lena is currently a full time Deaf Interpreter staff for the Learning Center for the Deaf and contractor for several agencies.  She loves interpreting for Deaf Blind people in conferences, festivals, and retreats.  She loves traveling to a new places, hiking, cooking, and lives with her two affectionate cats named Tom and Jerry!
